In October 2024, LAUFT partnered with Greenspark to elevate its sustainability efforts. Greenspark’s simple yet impactful solutions enabled LAUFT to integrate environmental contributions into its platform, such as planting trees and rescuing plastic with every booking made. For every $25 spent, LAUFT plants a tree, and for every hour worked, ocean-bound plastic is rescued. The amount of plastic removed depends on the type of space booked: for a desk, it’s 1 plastic bottle per hour; for an office space, it’s 5 bottles per hour; for a boardroom, it’s 15 bottles per hour; a single room removes 2 bottles per hour; a workroom, 10 bottles per hour; and a workshop space removes 20 bottles per hour. This detailed approach ensures that each booking has a direct and measurable impact on the environment.

To enhance the customer experience, LAUFT integrated Greenspark’s API into both their app and website, allowing customers to view the real-time environmental impact of each booking. With each booking, users can track the number of trees planted and the amount of ocean-bound plastic rescued, emphasising the real-world impact of their actions and fostering a sense of shared responsibility for sustainability. This transparency not only strengthens LAUFT’s commitment to sustainability but also builds a stronger connection with their community, inspiring customers to feel part of a larger environmental movement.

Since integrating Greenspark, LAUFT has made significant strides towards their sustainability goals. They have planted over 3,298 trees and rescued the equivalent of 21,529 plastic bottles from the ocean, showcasing their commitment to environmental action.

Not only have they made a positive impact on the planet, but they’ve also seen commercial success, with  5% month-on-month revenue growth that has been supported significantly by their sustainability efforts. 

LAUFT’s Earth Day Campaign

In celebration of Earth Day, LAUFT launched a unique campaign spanning the month of April to inspire community engagement and raise awareness about sustainability. The campaign encouraged users to share their environmental impact with LAUFT on social media, amplifying their commitment to a greener future. As part of the initiative, winners received a gift card from Goodee, a leading brand dedicated to sustainable living, along with free LAUFT workspace passes and the opportunity to have 250 trees planted in their name through Greenspark, furthering their positive environmental impact.

The campaign delivered meaningful results. LAUFT received 100 entries to the competition, and engagement across social channels during the campaign period increased 11% compared to typical activity outside of Earth month. Alongside this growth was their considerable spike in new followers, which had grown by 200%, highlighting the positive effect that communicating Earth Day efforts can have on a brand’s through value congruence. 

Winning LAUFT clients also increased brand exposure through follow-up social media posts and additional workspace bookings. At the same time, the initiative reinforced LAUFT’s sustainability message and helped educate the broader community about the impact they’re making together. Most exciting of all, the momentum generated by this campaign has continued to positively influence LAUFT’s growth and engagement in the weeks that followed. 

By launching this campaign during Earth Day, LAUFT not only engaged its community but also highlighted the importance of collective action in addressing environmental challenges.
